Frequently Asked Questions

What time is each camp offered?

STEM Camps are offered from 9:00 – 12 Noon and 1:00 – 4:00 pm at Contentnea-Savannah K-8 School.  Please check the specifics of each camp for specific time and date offered.

Teach for America Summer School is from 8:00 – 1:00 PM at Contentnea-Savannah K-8 School.

Read to Achieve Summer School is from 8:00 – 1:00 PM at Moss Hill and Northeast Elementary Schools.

How are students selected for each camp?

All camps are first registered, first served. All online registrations will be date and time stamped at submission.  A minimum deposit of 1/3rd of the total balance is due within 2 weeks of registration to hold your child’s spot.  Failure to submit the deposit within 2 weeks will forfeit your child’s spot.

Read to Achieve is by invitation only.  Students registered will be checked against the invitation list.

Will transportation be provided?

Transportation will be provided for morning pick-up, mid-day drop-off (1:00 pm) and afternoon drop-off (4:00 pm) for all programs.

How will I know if the registration was accepted and my child can attend camp?

All Teach for America, Read to Achieve and STEM Camp registrations will be completed through our online registration system.  When you submit your registration you will receive an email confirmation.

Payment for STEM Camp may be paid online or a central office.  You will be asked to select which method you choose during registration.  A deposit of half of your total fees are due within 2 weeks of registration.  All fees are due by June 15.

What if my child wants to attend more than one camp?

Students can register for more than one camp. The registration site allows for a student to register for as many camps as they choose.

When a student registers for Teach for American or Read to Achieve they are registered for the entire program.

Students will need to register for each session of STEM Summer Camp they would like to attend.

What happens if the camp I register my child for reaches capacity?

The camp registration website and the details for each camp will list the maximum number of students per camp, if there is a maximum.  For camps that have a maximum, once the maximum is reached any student that registers will be put on a waitlist.  If a confirmed student can no longer attend the first student on the waitlist will be emailed that a space has opened up and will be given the option to register.

When are camp fees due?

After you register you will receive a confirmation email within 2-4 days.  This email will detail the total amount owed and a date in which a deposit must be made to hold your child’s spot in the requested camps.  Any trouble with meeting the deposit deadline should be relayed via email.

Guardians have the option to make payment online or to central office.  When you register for STEM Camp you will be asked if you will pay online or if you will pay at central office.  This will be important so that we can let central office staff know how much is owed for your child.  If you change your mind you will need to notify us by email and wait for a confirmation before changing the payment location.

Debit and credit cards can be used via the online payment system.  Checks and cash only will be accepted at central office.

Any camp fees not paid by June 15, 2018 will cause cancellation of the camp and students on the waitlist will be contacted.

Limited partial scholarships are available. Please inquire about availability when you receive your confirmation email.

Will breakfast and lunch be provided?

Yes, breakfast and lunch are provided for students attending Teach for America, Read to Achieve and morning STEM Camp sessions.  Students only attending afternoon STEM Camp sessions may arrive at CSS by 12:15 to eat lunch.  An afternoon snack is provided for students attending an afternoon STEM Camp.

*Will my child receive a STEM Camp T-shirt?

All students registered for a STEM Summer Camp will receive a camp t-shirt.  Students will only receive one t-shirt for the entire summer regardless of the number of camps he/she is registered.
